Preparedness for Crises and Disasters for Healthcare Workers

Based on our survey, we identified the following gaps in crisis and disaster preparedness among healthcare workers:

• Awareness and Training: Insufficient training in disaster preparedness.
• Emergency Plans: Lack of comprehensive, up-to-date
•  emergency plans.Communication Strategies: Ineffective communication during crises.
• Risk Assessments: Inadequate risk assessments in healthcare settings.
• Resource Management: Challenges in managing resources during disasters.
• Addressing these gaps will improve the preparedness and resilience of healthcare workers and facilities.

• Recognize the need for disaster preparedness in healthcare.
• Define key crisis management terms and concepts.
• Identify different disaster types and their impacts.
• Analyze vulnerabilities in healthcare settings.
• Conduct risk assessments and management strategies.
