Achieving Accurate Laboratory Results

The scientific committee found there is a learning gap among target audience about the laboratory results as follows:

• Deficit in understanding the key components of the pre-analytical phase, such as sample ordering and collection methods, which results in a lack of awareness of how these processes ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
• Shortage of knowledge in handling laboratory specimens, sample receiving, and applying safety measures during analytical phases.
• Lack of knowledge on how to effectively manage laboratory instruments, perform instrument and test method validation, and implement internal quality control procedures.
• Inadequacy in proficiency regarding proficiency testing, instrument calibration, and the essential components of a quality system.
• Shortfall in adapting to the use of quality tools and improvement methodologies in the laboratory, conducting effective internal audits, and understanding the laboratory accreditation process.

• Describe the key components of the pre-analytical phase, including sample ordering and collection methods, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
• Illustrate proficiency in the proper handling of laboratory specimens, efficient sample receiving, and application of safety measures during analytical phases to maintain the integrity of test results and ensure a safe laboratory environment.
• Identify how to effectively manage laboratory instruments, perform instrument and test method validation, and implement internal quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable diagnostic results.
• Explain how to be proficient in proficiency testing, instrument calibration, and the essential components of a quality system, enabling them to effectively monitor and improve laboratory quality indicators.
• Clarify how to adapt to using quality tools& improvement methodologies in the laboratory,conducting effective internal audits, and understanding the laboratory accreditation process to enhance the overall quality and compliance laboratory operation
