Introduction
The scientific committee found there is a learning gap and needs about the Duplex Ultrasound scanning in the diagnosis of renal artery stenosis as follows: There is a lack of comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and physiology of renal arteries and their correlation with the principles of Renal Artery Doppler for accurate diagnostic interpretation in clinical settings. Additionally, there is a deficit in expertise regarding the interpretation of hemodynamic waveforms in renal artery Doppler and a shortage of proficiency in performing accurate Doppler assessments. Moreover, there is a lack of knowledge in identifying and applying specific measurements and diagnostic criteria crucial for accurate identification and diagnosis of renal artery stenosis.
Objectives
- Identify the anatomy and physiology of renal arteries to establish a foundational understanding of their structure and function within the human body.
- Recognize the principles of Renal Artery Doppler to accurately interpret and apply Doppler techniques for diagnostic assessments in clinical settings
- Determine proficiency in interpreting the hemodynamic waveform of renal artery Doppler for precise assessment and diagnosis in clinical scenarios.
- Clarify how to be proficient in executing the techniques required to perform accurate renal artery Doppler assessments
- Illustrate how the precise measurements essential for effective interpretation and assessment in renal artery Doppler procedures
- Identify and apply the diagnostic criteria crucial for accurate detection of renal artery stenosis.
Outcomes
By the end of this event, the learners will be able to Recognize how to integrate the understanding of renal artery anatomy and physiology with the principles of Renal Artery Doppler, enabling accurate diagnostic evaluation in clinical settings, mastering the interpretation of hemodynamic waveforms, and gaining expertise in performing precise renal artery Doppler assessments. Apply specific measurements and diagnostic criteria effectively, ensuring accurate identification and diagnosis of RAS.
